Meet Our Staff
Maria Glennon, DVM
Dr. Glennon was born in Washington, DC but grew up in Raleigh, NC. She completed her undergraduate degree at North Carolina State University in 1990 and graduated from form the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. Dr. Glennon joined Wilson Veterinary Hospital in January of 1996 when it was still a mixed animal practice. She has been happily practicing small animal medicine since 2000.
Dr. Glennon and her husband, John, have 3 boys, 4 cats and 1 dog. Hobbies include choral singing, watching horse racing and traveling.
James Lupton, DVM
Dr. Lupton grew up in Wilson, NC. He graduated from Hunt High School in 2003 and NC State University in 2007. He then attended The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine graduating in 2011. Dr. Lupton has a strong interest in soft tissue surgery, orthopedics, and internal medicine.
Dr. Lupton and his wife, Kristin, have a son (Bradley) and a daughter (Natalie). They share their home with three cats (Bart, Cheddar and Digit). He enjoys going to the gym, riding motorcycles and spending time with his brothers.
Mark Matthews, DVM
Dr. Matthews attended undergraduate school at N. C. State University and graduated from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1982 with High Honors. He joined Wilson Veterinary Hospital in 1983. He has a special interest in all types of surgery and performs operations every day that include soft tissue surgery, orthopedics, routine spaying and neutering, tumor removal, wound treatments and other procedures.
He and his wife Linda have a son (Brewer) and a daughter (Abbott) as well as a dog (Liz) and a cat (Dipsy).
Carrie Raymond, DVM
Dr. Raymond grew up in Wilmington, Delaware and moved to North Carolina in 1999 to attend North Carolina State Veterinary School. She graduated in 2003 and has been working at Wilson Veterinary Hospital ever since. She handled after-hours emergency cases at Wilson Vet during her first two years and has strong interests in behavior, dentistry and internal medicine.
Dr. Raymond and her husband, John, have 2 children, 1 dog and 1 cat.
Renae Wohlers, DVM
Dr. Wohlers attended undergraduate school at North Carolina State University. She graduated from North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004, joined Wilson Veterinary Hospital after graduation and has been working here ever since. Her strong areas of interest include ultrasound, dermatology, animal behavior and cardiology. She feels fortunate to indulge her love of animals with her chosen profession.
Dr. Wohlers grew up in Minnesota and met her husband, Derek, while serving as a Captain in the Army. They live with two Newfoundland dogs and three rescue cats.
